Today I had my final day at work, it feels so strange to think I am not going back Monday and I am not too sure what I am going to do with myself! I decided to leave now at 34 weeks as I’m getting a little uncomfortable driving for an hour each way and by the time I get home I am shattered.
So now it is time to relax and prepare for the new arrival, hopefully getting in quite a few swims over the next few weeks as I find it is the only thing that makes me feel 100% comfortable at the moment!
25 weeks down, 15 to go! My bump is finally starting to show now and I am well and truly into my maternity clothes. I have always been pretty small so learning to accept the changes to my body has probably been one of the toughest things so far. I think I am frightened that I will never again fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes. So far I have put on just over a stone and a half and although I am allowing myself a few extra treats here and there I am not eating any more than I usually would be.
As soon as I remember what we are getting at the end, the weight gain seems like a small price to pay!
I’m starting to need some new clothes! Leggings have become a must, literally living in leggings right now, although I did find this stretchy stripy dress still just about fits. In a few weeks I may have to look at getting some clothes for work but so far on my lookout for maternity items, they are still few and far between.
And the bump has started to pop out – now I actually look more pregnant than just a bit porky!
Although I still do not really look pregnant I can now see a definite bump emerging! It still looks like I have just put on a few extra pounds and is yet to really ‘pop out’ yet but I suspect it won’t be long.
I’m still in my usual skinny jeans but there will come a point soon when they will be firmly sent to the back of my wardrobe. My aunt has given me some very comfy maternity leggings which I will probably live in towards the end!
Very nearly halfway there 🙂 I got my 20 week scan date in the post so not long to wait now, I will actually be 19w 3d when I have the scan, really glad I didn’t have to wait 24 weeks. Now we must decided to find out or to not find out…
Being only 14 weeks I do not really have a visible bump yet although I have noticed a lot of my clothes are getting rather tight and quite a few work items are now no good. I have also got bloating towards the end of the day for quite a few weeks now so leggings have become my favourite.
I decided to use this as a good opportunity to go through my wardrobe and have a good clear out! All my smart work clothes that are now uncomfortable, I have packed away in vacuum packs as I will be going back to work after my maternity leave and would rather not buy a whole new work wardrobe after the baby is born!
I also put away my more skinnier summer clothes as I am determined to fit back into them by next summer…I’m hoping this will be some sort of motivation!
I then managed to fill a large sack to take to the charity shop (after my sister has been for a rummage) which made me realise just how much I had in my wardrobe that I no longer wear… I even found a few items still with the tags on… oppsy.
My New Year’s Resolution (once the baby is here) will be to purchase little and often and clothes of better quality rather than being drawn in by sale signs and filling my wardrobe with things I do not actually need.
Everyone has told me I will be large at the right time – in winter when I can get away with legging and jumpers – rather than the summer where pregnant ladies appear hot and uncomfortable no matter what they wear!
For now I am on the lookout for some maternity clothes for work, eBay seems to be the place to look with great items and good brands going for a few pounds each.
